Zooming by drawing a rectangle

I know when I pan and zoom I do not think in terms of "I want to scale to 176% and then drag to where I want", I think about how I want to zoom in on some specific area of the screen. Right now it is a bit of a mess of zoom, drag, zoom, drag, zoom out, drag some more... etc.

As a feature request, I would love to be able to draw a rectangle around the area of the screen I want to zoom in on and let the program figure out what percent that is and have it handle the "dragging".
